Work on Raywell Hall Country Lodges gets underway
09th March 06
Work has begun this week on transforming the 35-acre grounds of Raywell Hall into a luxury lodge development set in the heart of the East Yorkshire countryside.
The first step in the development was to demolish the imposing green industrial buildings in the grounds behind Raywell Hall the 19th Century Manor House that was once home to noted politician and close friend of William Wilberforce, Daniel Sykes which will make way for an idyllic lodge retreat of 43 dwellings.
The large industrial units, situated behind the house, formerly housed an animal feed factory and their removal marks the start of the restoration of Raywell Hall and its grounds. Work on demolishing the buildings began this week by Hessle-based construction company mh construction and the site will be cleared by the end of April.
Following the removal of the industrial buildings, work on erecting the luxury lodges will begin in the summer. There has already been great excitement about the lodge development with over 100 people registering their interest.
Philip Mackay, Project Director for Quintor, explained: It's exciting to see work on the lodge development finally begin and to see the demolition of the imposing industrial buildings.
"Once the industrial buildings have been cleared we will set about enhancing the setting in preparation for the first lodges.
"Every lodge will have something special…the architects were briefed that every plot had to be 'A star' and that is what we will create, there will be no compromise.
"The setting of the Hall is amazing and there is a very special feel to the whole area. We will deliver to our customers a perfect retreat within the rural setting of the Hall giving the site a ‘5 Star’ feel. There will be fabulous views of ancient woodland and rolling countryside from all the lodges, this will make Raywell Country Lodges a fantastic and unique escape from it all experience.
The first phase of lodges will be sited in August this year and will be offered on a first come basis. Interested parties are advised to register their interest via the website or by contacting Sales Advisor Lesley Henderson on (01482) 300830.
