Lodge doors open at Raywell
23rd August 06
On bank holiday weekend [Saturday August 26 and Sunday August 27 between 12pm to 4pm] Raywell Hall Country Lodges will be throwing open its doors to its show lodges at the grand opening of the East Yorkshire-based lodge park.
The open weekend will be the first opportunity for interested parties to view the two show lodges within the historic grounds of Raywell Hall - the 19th Century Manor House - that was once home to noted politician and close friend of William Wilberforce, Daniel Sykes.
It will also be the first chance for buyers to order their lodge prices start from £139.500 - and handpick their site and more importantly the accompanying views.
Work began on transforming the 35-acre grounds of Raywell Hall into a luxury holiday home development of 43 dwellings in March. Since then work has been progressing well on enhancing the setting in preparation for the first lodges which were erected this month.
The development's two show lodges, supplied by local companies Advent Holiday Homes and Lissett Homes, have now been sited and the open weekend will be the public's first opportunity to see the lodges within their historic setting.
The Lodges themselves offer state-of-the art living and are a far cry away from the images conjured up by old fashioned holiday home developments. They include spacious living and dining areas, en suite bathrooms, contemporary kitchens, walk in wardrobes and a large decked area. Additional luxuries such as saunas and hot tubs will also be available.
The development stands at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds and offers unrivalled views of rolling countryside and preserved woodland. Most of the lodges have been blessed with south facing views and at the centre of the development will stand a lake, while woodland walks shoot off in all directions.
Since the announcement of the development last August, great interest has been generated about the lodge site with the newly produced website receiving over 500 hits a month.
Philip Mackay, Project Director for Quintor, explained: "Half a million people in the UK are looking to buy a second home or holiday retreat and we think that the location of Raywell Hall Country Lodges offers a fantastic base to explore the local area.
He continued: "We have made special effort to ensure that every lodge will have unrivalled views across the surrounding countryside and the architects were briefed that every plot had to be 'A star'. We have also taken great care to make sure that we offer our buyers the best in contemporary lodge living which is why we have appointed Advent Holiday Homes and Lissett Homes as our two lodge suppliers.
"The setting of the Hall really is amazing and there is a very special feel to the whole area. We will deliver to our customers a perfect retreat within the rural setting of the Hall, which gives the site an upmarket feel.
"We are urging interested parties to visit the park on bank holiday weekend when the first phase of lodges will be released. As each plot is unique we want buyers to be able to handpick the plot that is perfect for them."
The following weekend is the Caravan and Holiday Home industry's biggest show 'The 2006 Caravan Extravaganza' which takes place at Cottingham Golf Club and the Lawns. Philip hopes that it will provide the perfect opportunity for visitors from further afield to visit Raywell Hall Country Lodges as they will be in a unique position to showcase their lodges within their East Yorkshire setting.
