October 1-3 – Priscilla Queen of the Desert – Hull New Theatre, Kingston Square, Hull city centre, HU1 3HF - Jason Donovan will play the role of Tick in the UK tour of the international smash hit musical. October 1Beverley Races season closer - Beverley Racecourse, HU17 8QZ – Why not attend the season finale race day and help close the racing season at Beverley in true style. October 4 MW Road Train Tours – Hull city centre, HU1 3RQ – The land train is operated and owned by Mally Welburn, a former fisherman and tour guide on the Arctic Corsair. Together with his dedicated team, he runs the train on 45 minute tours around the city centre and Old Town from Wednesday to Sunday and all week during school holidays. It operates at regular times throughout the day. Prices vary from £1.50 to £2.

October 4Beverley Food Festival – Beverley town centre, HU17 0AB - A family day of food, festivities and fun. With more than 100 stalls selling the finest quality locally produced food and drink, and a whole host of entertainment, including Beverley Brass Band, Beverley Garland Dancers and local young musicians. The Food Theatre Marquee will feature either renowned local chefs giving cookery demonstrations, including Ben Cox from The Star at Sancton, Matthew Barker from The Westwood, James MacKenzie from The Pipe & Glass Inn, Tina Cerutti from Cerutti 2, John Robinson from White's, Jason Rowe from Rebels' Smokehouse, David Nowell from Beverley Tickton Grange Hotel and Thiery Condette from TC Patisserie. From October 16 onwards – Hallowscream at York Maze - Dunnington Lodge, Elvington Lane, York, North Yorkshire, YO19 5LT – This is a terrifyingly entertaining night of fear and fun with five separate live action haunted house attractions. But be warned, the frights are not limited to the haunted houses. October 17 – Orienteering at the Humber Bridge Country Park – The Black Mill, Humber Bridge Country Park, Hessle Foreshore, Hessle, HU13 0HB, 1pm-3pm - The orienteering courses at the Country Park range from short and easy navigating on paths, to longer and more technical ones. This afternoon is primarily aimed at beginners, but there is also a course for more experienced orienteers. Electronic timing will be used for the event which is run by the Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteers (HALO). Coaching is available from British Orienteering qualified coaches.
